Abstract

This research explores the relationship between urban green spaces and community well-being, focusing on how access to parks and recreational areas contributes to physical and mental health. In rapidly urbanizing areas, the availability of green spaces is crucial for fostering healthy communities. The study begins with a literature review that outlines the benefits of urban green spaces, including improved air quality, opportunities for physical activity, and enhanced social cohesion. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research collects quantitative data on health outcomes and community engagement levels in urban areas with varying access to green spaces. Qualitative interviews with community members and urban planners provide insights into the perceived benefits and challenges associated with maintaining and accessing these spaces. The findings indicate that urban green spaces significantly contribute to community well-being, promoting physical health, reducing stress, and fostering social interactions. The research highlights the need for inclusive planning processes that prioritize equitable access to green spaces for all community members. The study concludes with recommendations for policymakers to enhance urban planning initiatives that integrate green spaces as essential components of healthy, livable cities.
