Social Capital and Community Resilience During Public Health Crises
Abstract
This paper investigates the role of social capital—trust, networks, and civic engagement—in shaping community responses to public health crises like COVID-19. Based on case studies from three communities, the findings indicate that higher levels of social capital correlate with better crisis management, compliance with health measures, and mutual aid. The study suggests that strengthening local networks and trust can be an effective strategy in future public emergencies.
