Cultural Identity and Integration: A Study of Immigrant Youth in Urban Settings
Abstract
This study examines the experiences of immigrant youth in adapting to new cultural environments while maintaining their heritage. Using in-depth interviews with 50 participants aged 15-25 from diverse backgrounds, the research uncovers themes of identity conflict, resilience, and the role of schools in integration. The study concludes that cultural hybridity is a common coping mechanism and that inclusive educational practices can ease the integration process.
